3 faced stone head inspired by The Corleck Head - Early Iron Age, 1st – 2nd century AD  found in Drumeague, Co. Cavan Ireland 1855

Hand made to order allow 2-3 weeks for delivery.

The head is often taken to represent an ‘all-knowing Celtic god’, who can see all dimensions of reality.

Corleck Hill, in Co. Cavan, was the site of a Lughnasa festival. Lughnasa was one of the great quarterly feasts of the old Irish year held at the beginning of the harvest season and it also retained millennia-old memories of the Celtic god Lugh. In the context of the Lughnasa festival, the head may represent the god Crum Dubh, who was buried for three days with only his head above ground, and released when the harvest fruits had been guaranteed.

These lack of definitions leave space for our own minds to ruminate on this beautiful ancient sculpture.

Hole for incense.
